Haematology

The branch of hematology includes the complete study of blood cells for the diagnosis of hematological diseases like anemias, Leukemias, Thalassemias/hemoglobinopathies & coagulation disorders.

Critical tests like platelet count, Prothrombin time (PT), APTT & parasites (Malaria, Microfilaria) are performed.

Fully automated cell counters are used for processing including 5 part & 3 part cell counters as a backup. These counters are based on the technique of electrical impedance & light scattering.
